The Indian Cinema rooster lost three major superstars during an ongoing pandemic and none of the lost souls lost the fight to the virus. India lost Sushant Singh Rajput, a rising star in Bollywood on Sunday. The actor was found dead in his apartment as the Mumbai Police chief reports. The actor is believed to have taken his own life as reports suggests, however, official reports are yet to confirm.
Sushant Singh Rajput is best known for his role in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, where he portrayed the legendary cricketer. Many people around the country paid tribute towards the loss, including the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, who called him “a bright young actor gone too soon”. Rajput’s death comes just days after that of his former manager, who coincidentally, succumbed to her wounds in a similar manner.
Last month, India mourned the death of Irrfan Khan, a loved actor who was also an international star. In 2018, Irrfan Khan tweeted that he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor. He sought treatment in the UK for a year and returned to India in 2019. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on 20th April 2020 where he received treatment for a colon infection. The treatment worked however, he succumbed and passed away the following day at 3:55 IST from the infection.
A day later another Indian superstar Rishi Kapoor passed away from Leukemia. Rishi was diagnosed with the diagnosis in 2018 and sought treatment for over a year in the States and returned to India in September 2019. Rishi Kapoor’s last rites were performed at Chandanwadi Crematorium with only close members of his family and immediate relatives in attendance who gathered to pay their last tributes.
