The number of infections globally soared to 10.93 million cases with the death toll pointing more than 519,000 deaths. The United States account for more than 2.7 million cases and a death toll at a quarter of the total death toll standing at more than 128,000 currently. The Trump administration has issued a fresh set of rules for air travel quoting that while passengers and crew members are required to wear masks, no social distancing norms were regulated.
Doctor Fauci quoted that the virus in its current state seem to be mutating and urged the citizens of the states to follow social distancing norms in their full capacity and to wear masks in public places. “The data is showing there’s a single mutation that makes the virus be able to replicate better and maybe have high viral loads,” Fauci said in a recent interview. “We don’t have a connection to whether an individual does worse with this or not; it just seems that the virus replicates better and may be more transmissible,” he further explains.
Texas governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order requiring all resident to wear a face-covering mask in public with 20 or more positive coronavirus cases. The current decision was made because of the percent of total cases coming back positive and the hospitalization rate both increase tenfold.
The Pentagon reported a total of 18,071 total infections in the military. Of the total, 12,521 are active-duty military personnel, 2,644 are civilians, 1,740 are dependents and 1,166 are private contractors. The following numbers also include 8,683 recoveries and 38 deaths across the entire military sector.
